Air infiltration from gaps, holes, and other air leaks can account for as much as 40% of a building’s energy loss. Barn Light Homes builds in a way to create an airtight envelope in your home, crafting the cozy that keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Using a combination of spray foam insulation and energy-efficient framing techniques in all homes, we attempt to curtail this energy loss and help keep your energy bills down.
Spray foam insulation acts as an insulation and an air sealant in your home and, as such, helps your heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system work efficiently and as designed. In many cases, the increased efficiency means that a home can sustain an HVAC system of lesser size to maintain the same level of comfort in the home — further reducing the costs of building and maintaining the home.
We’ve been using spray foam insulation since we built our first home in 2005 and continue to use it to help craft cozy in every Barn Light Home.
So, bring on the cooler weather! We’re ready!
